May 7 - 9, 2007, Columbia , Maryland

The 2007 State Leaders' Summit Program and
Registration are now available at:

The Summit will be held at the Sheraton Columbia Hotel on May 7-9, 2007 in Columbia , MD following the CEASD (Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf) annual conference. This year's conference follows the "Open Space" meeting format. Using the "Open Space" approach, conference participants create an agenda of issues and solutions the beginning of the meeting, resulting in topics and discussion that are relevant and stimulating. Please bring materials with you and be prepared to present your states' activities should you have an opportunity to become part of the program through this process.

The theme of the conference continues to focus on collaboration, systems change and improvement in deaf education with an emphasis on ensuring that the National Agenda and the needs and issues for students who are deaf and hard of hearing are an integral part of state accountability and improvement plans.

As in the past, we ask that states configure and register teams of three that minimally represent leadership from 1) parents, 2) the department of education, and 3) the school for the deaf. If your state has a training program in deaf education, educational interpreting, or a related area, their representatives may also be included on your team. There is no limit to the size of your state team though overall conference participation is limited.

The State Leaders' Summit is funded by registrations and sponsor contributions. We are actively seeking financial sponsors so we can keep this event as affordable as possible. If you can help, please contact Robert Hill, rhill@asdb.state.az.us .

We look forward to seeing you in May at the third National State Leaders Summit.
